Shea has been involved in research projects dealing with topics ranging from the analysis of wood value chains, development of next generation Living Labs, and Circular Economy to the reuse of waste clay/earth in the building industry. He teaches and coordinates master’s level courses in the architecture program; Design and Planning for Social Inclusion, Reality Studio, Beyond Sustainability crash course. He managed the creation of the HSB Living Lab, along with Chalmers’ 2013 entry in the Solar Decathlon China (Halo) and created and leads DARE to Build, a cross-disciplinary practice-based course which challenges Engineering and Architecture students to design and build together.
